
Janet Turner (age 63 of Greenwood) passed into her Savior’s loving arms on August 18, 2017 at the Abbie Hunt Bryce Hospice Home in Indianapolis after a long battle with cancer. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am, August 23 at Round Hill Cemetery, 5235 S. Meridian Street. Janet was a dedicated administrative assistant at IPS for over 17 years, with her last few years spent at School #83. She had a great sense of humor and was very artistically talented enjoying painting, crocheting, and making beaded jewelry. She graduated from Decatur Central High School in 1972 and received her BA in Elementary Education from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri in 1977.
She was preceded in death by her father, Emory Turner of Indianapolis. She is survived by: mother – Martha Meredith of Greenwood; brothers – Tim (Martha) Turner of Mooresville, Dan Turner of Indianapolis; sister – Polly (Kevin) Shingleton of Indianapolis; nephews and nieces – David (Heather) Turner of Plainfield, Greg (Alicia) Turner of Greenwood, Paul (Lindsey) Turner of Franklin, Melody (Trevor) Anderson of Indianapolis, Noah Shingleton of Indianapolis, Jonah Shingleton of Indianapolis; and 11 great-nieces and great-nephews.
